It sounds like your Vingcard 2800 has been reset or experienced an error, causing it to lose its configuration settings. Here are a few troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your connections: Ensure all cables and connectors between the Vingcard 2800 and your network or computer are securely connected. Sometimes, a loose cable can cause the system to malfunction.
  • Power Cycle: Turn off the Vingcard 2800 system and unplug it from the power source. Please wait a few minutes, plug it back in, and turn it on. This can often resolve minor glitches.
  • Check Software: If the system uses proprietary software on a computer, ensure the software is functioning properly. You may need to restart the software or the computer.
  • Re-Initialize the system: If the system displays “new hotel,” it seems to have lost its initial setup. You can re-initialize the system if you can access the necessary codes and feel comfortable doing it. This will involve setting the hotel ID and any other unique system identifiers and then re-programming the keys for your rooms. Be careful to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid causing more problems.
  • Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, you should contact Vingcard’s customer service or technical support. They can provide more detailed instructions over the phone, or they may need to send out a technician to look at your system.

If none of these steps work, your best action would be to contact Vingcard support. They have trained technicians who can help you troubleshoot and fix the issue. The system may require a service visit or a replacement if it fails due to a hardware issue.

Remember that during this time, manual or master keys will be necessary for room access, and you should inform guests about the situation and any potential inconvenience. It’s crucial to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to ensure the safety and satisfaction of your guests.
