TTlock attempts to turn and says it’s unlocked/locked, but it doesn’t do either.
I installed 2 TTlock smart door locks; one works as expected, but the other lock attempts to turn but doesn’t turn; and says it’s unlocked/locked, but it doesn’t do either. What do I need to do to fix this?

If your TTlock smart lock is trying to turn, reporting as locked/unlocked, but the door doesn’t lock or unlock, then it seems like you have a mechanical rather than a software issue.
Here are a few things to check:
- Lock Installation: Ensure the lock has been installed correctly per the manufacturer’s instructions. Double-check that all the components are correctly aligned and securely fastened.
- Deadbolt Alignment: If the deadbolt is not properly aligned with the strike on the door frame, the lock may not be able to extend or retract the bolt fully. This is a common issue with any lock, especially new installations. The deadbolt should slide easily into the strike without pushing, pulling, or lifting the door.
- Manual Operation: Try operating the lock manually using the thumb turn or key to see if the issue persists. This will help you identify if the problem is with the automatic motorized mechanism or an overall mechanical problem with the lock.
- Battery Level: Low battery power can also cause this problem. Ensure your lock has a sufficient power level for operation. Change the batteries if they are low.
- Door and Frame Alignment: Check if your door and frame are properly aligned. Sometimes, weather changes can cause doors to swell or frames to shift, leading to alignment problems. If the door is hard to close or you must force it, this might be the problem.
If none of these tips help, you should contact TTlock’s customer support. They should be able to provide further guidance or determine if your lock needs to be repaired or replaced.
